We have met with stage director Kamat Kasenov in the rehearsal hall of the School at «Ilkhom» theatre named after Mark Veil. In tandem with the actress Galina Ketova he was conducting rehearsals of the mono-play «Why footprints are not remaining?». That mono-play will be presented within the framework of «ILKHOM. NEW DRAMA» Festival. |

The work on implementation of the project titled «Theatrical dialogue» of Arts and Culture Programme of Swiss Cooperation Office in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan was commenced in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan from mid May this year. This new project presents a unique opportunity to test creative potential of young stage directors and promising techniques of «joint creative activity», which transforms a ready stage play into international performance, consisting of different national components. |

Presently, IV regional seminar of documentary cinematographers of Central Asia “Renewed dialogues-4” is in full swing at Pink Hall of the Cinema House. The first such meeting took place in 2003 at the initiative of renowned Uzbek film director Shukhrat Makhmudov. Then there was the second, third ones, which showed to what extent the people – both professionals and amateurs of good cinematography – has been missing communication and were in need of communication and meeting with each other in cinema halls. |

In 2008, SDC had provided assistance in implementation of the project titled “Bridges of mutual understanding”, initiated by the head of orchestra conducting department of the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan (SCU), professor Feruza Abdurakhimova. The project involved students from People’s Republic of China, to be more precise from Xinjiang Uigur Autonomous Region, being trained at SCU. Concert of Uighur music performed by young soloists and student orchestra of folk instruments headed by F.Abdurakhimova has been hailed as the important event not only in musical life of Tashkent. Its repercussions were heard in Urumqi and are continuing to resound in Tashkent. In a special interview for “To be continued…”, we added more details into that and also new plans of Feruza Ravshanovna and “Sogdiana” chamber orchestra of Uzbek folk instruments created by her. |
