  С 27 апреля по 13 мая на суд нью-йоркской публики в экспериментальном театре «La MaMa» труппой «Yara Arts Group» был представлен спектакль «Мост снов» с участием кыргызстанских и американских актёров.

  Professor Feruza Abdurakhimova can be described as a person in constant service of Arts. New projects – festivals, concerts, publication of collections for orchestras and polyphonic ensembles of Uzbek folk instruments - come one after another. In 2008, at the assistance of Art and Culture Programme of the Swiss Cooperation Office (SDC office) in Uzbekistan, Feruza Ravshanovna implemented the project “Bridges of mutual understanding” with involvement of students from Sinkiang Uighur Autonomous Region of People’s Republic of China, studying at State Conservatory of Uzbekistan. And now, a new experience of cooperation – creative competition of forty six teams from ten regions of the Republic has been on display for two days in Grand Hall of the Conservatory within the framework of the Fifth Republican Festival of polyphonic folk instrument ensembles and orchestras "Melodies of Navruz" (“Navruz Sadolari”). About the festival, that has been held at the support of SDC, about projects and plans – in our interview with Feruza Abdurakhimova - Honored Artist of Uzbekistan, professor, artistic director and conductor of Chamber Orchestra of Uzbek Folk Instruments “Sogdiana”.

  A Jazz Festival dedicated to the International Jazz Day will be held in Grand Hall of State Conservatory of Uzbekistan on May 6th, 2012. The Festival has been organized with the participation of representative office of UNESCO in Uzbekistan, Tashkent Jazz Club named after S.Gilyov and the Swiss Cooperation Office (SDC office) in Uzbekistan.

    The project «Theatre dialogue» of Regional Arts and Culture Programme of Swiss Cooperation Office in Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, implemented in 2011, has marked a milestone in theatrical life of the whole region. As is known, the primary objective of this project was development of intercultural dialogue and creative cooperation of the two countries.

  The Project «Museum on wheels» of the State Museum of Arts (SMA) of the Republic of Karakalpakstan named after Igor Vitalyevich Savitskiy was started in 2003, and since that time it has won hearts and minds of several generations of the population of Karakalpakstan. As admitted by the directress of SMA Ms.Marinika Babanazarova, the year 2011 witnessed implementation of one of the most significant stages of this unique program in the sphere of aesthetic education.

  Shukhrat Abdumalikov, who is currently one of the most popular artistic directors in Uzbekistan, very often repeats the word “responsibility”. And by all appearances, he has good reasons... This precise word defines the artist (him) best and his attitude – towards artistic heritage of the deceased Teacher, towards students and disciples, towards his own creative work, towards projects, either initiated by himself, or those, in which he is taking part. We have met at the artist’s workshop in order to talk about themes currently exciting his imagination, to talk about things that he strives for, and also about recent projects that have marked a milestone in his career. Our first question is traditionally related to his first steps as a professional, to the period when his “life in arts” had just began…

  The French Embassy and the Swiss Cooperation Office are happy to announce the Week of Francophonie in Bishkek held from 26th March to 1st of April 2012.

  The Francophone Week 2012 will be held in Dushanbe from March 7 to 14. The event is organised by Bactria Cultural Center, with support of the French Embassy in Tajikistan, the Government of Switzerland and the General Council of Belfort (France).

  Presentation of  the "Manual on Jazz Music", compiled by young Tajik composer Khalilov Jasur, and concert by ethno-jazz-rock band "Avesto" (one of the best groups in Central Asia, the holders of diplomas of various musical competitions, the winner of the international jazz festivals) will take place in the main concert hall of the Tajik National Conservatory on February 24th at 17.00.

  «Turkiston» chamber orchestra is one of the few teams, which continuously familiarizes inhabitants of Tashkent with new music of domestic composers. Some years ago, the orchestra under the leadership of Honored art worker of Uzbekistan Eldar Azimov had implemented a unique project at the support of Culture & Art Programme of Swiss Cooperation Office (SCO) – the CD titled «Music of Central Asian composers» was recorded at that time. Presentation of the disc was a part of the concert, during which there were many kind words uttered and good music of the composers of the region played.

  The meeting with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation H.E. Mrs.Anne Bauty took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan on February 2nd, 2012.

  Central Asian Fusion Festival «ARALASH» and «Theatre Dialogue» project, organized in 2011 by Regional Art and Culture Programme of Swiss Cooperation Office (SCO) will be analyzed for a long time by specialists, and recalled enthusiastically by participants and spectators. Both of these projects have, on the one hand, drastically changed perception of the public regarding what theatre can be, and on the other hand, discovered, for stage directors and actors, several new generations of spectators craving after communication.

  Exhibition of paintings by the Tajik artist, Hakimdzhon Zavkibekov, will last until the 9th of February, 2012. The artworks can be found in the Swiss Cooperation Office in Dushanbe during the week from 9 am to 5 pm.

  The project «Theatre Dialogue» of Regional Arts and Culture Programme of Swiss Cooperation Office in Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, implemented in 2011, was not a mere milestone in theatrical life of the whole region. The plays, staged at State National Russian Drama Theatre named after Ch.Aitmatov within the framework of the project, captured the attention of stage directors and actors of other theatres.

  Two large-scale theatrical projects, namely,  Central Asian Fusion Festival «ARALASH» and «Theatre dialogue» were organized by Regional Arts and Culture Programme of Swiss Cooperation Office in 2011.

  According to announcement by Press-service of the Ministry of Cultural and Sports Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, on November 28th a meeting took place with Extraodinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan Mrs. Anne Bauty at the Ministry of Cultural and Sports Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The manager of the Regional Art and Culture Programme of the Swiss Cooperation Office Mrs. Barno Turgunova and Chief of Department on development of international relations Mr. Anvar Maksudov have also participated at that meeting.

  The premiere of the one-man show, "Why not leave marks ?...» took place on the 25th of November in the capital of Kyrgyzstan on the Small Stage of the State National Russian Drama Theater, named after Chingiz Aitmatov.

  As part of «Theatrical dialogue» project, premiere of the stage play titled «Groaning of bow-string» will take place on 24th of October at Republican Young Spectator’s Theatre.
